Carport Builder Brisbane

Brisbane's storm season doesn't give much warning, and a car parked out in the open pays for it. Trueline designs and builds custom carports across Brisbane and South East Queensland that stand up to the weather and suit the home they're attached to, whether that's a post-war brick home or a brand new build.

Designed for Brisbane Weather, Not Just Brisbane Driveways

South East Queensland sees some of the most severe storms in the country. Hail that can dent a bonnet and crack a windscreen in minutes, strong winds, and rain heavy enough to flood a driveway. The rest of the year, the main problem is the sun. Leaving a car out on a Brisbane afternoon means you’re likely to burn your hands on the steering wheel, and years of UV exposure means faded paint, cracked dashboards, and perished rubber seals.

A carport fixes both problems, but only if it's built right. That means a structure engineered for local wind ratings, a roof with the right fall and guttering to move storm water away quickly, and fixings that hold when the wind gets under the roof sheet.

It also has to suit your block. Brisbane's hilly suburbs have steep driveways that rule out standard kit sizes, inner-city character homes sit on narrow lots close to the street, and new estates on the city's fringes leave very little room between the garage and the boundary. Every Trueline carport is designed around those conditions from the start, which is why it looks like part of the house rather than something added later.

Carports Are Best For…

01

Queenslanders and character homes in suburbs like Paddington, Red Hill and Wilston, where there's no garage and the car has always lived on the street or the front lawn

02

Small-lot homes in growth areas such as North Lakes, Springfield and Yarrabilba, where the single garage holds one car and the second one sits out in the hail

03

Sloping and split-level blocks, where the carport needs to be designed around the fall of the land rather than squeezed onto it

04

Boats, jet skis and caravans that need extra height and length, ready for weekends on Moreton Bay or a run up the coast

05

Families who want a shaded, open-air space for the kids, a workbench or a casual get-together, out of the afternoon sun

Choosing the Right Carport Design in Brisbane

We start with one of our proven carport structures, then shape it to your home, your block and your budget. Your design consultant will walk you through the options on site, so you can see how each one would sit against your house before you decide.

Steel Carports

A straightforward, durable solution that handles harsh sun, heavy rain and storms without fuss. Steel carports come in a wide range of colours and roof profiles and suit everything from a single carport beside the house to a double out the front.

Insulated Carports

Insulated roof panels cut the radiant heat coming through the roof, so the space underneath stays noticeably cooler on hot days. They also quieten the sound of heavy rain and hail and leave a clean, finished ceiling. A good choice if your carport will double as an outdoor area for the family.

Heritage Carports

A heavier, more architectural structure with a closed gable roof, available in Queenslander or Hamptons style. Weatherboard detailing, chamferboard panels and optional side cladding mean the carport carries the same character as the house, which matters on streets where the front of the home is everything.

Boatports, Vanports and Freestanding Carports

Need extra height or width for a boat, caravan or camper trailer? We design carports around the vehicle, not the other way around. Freestanding carports stand independently of your home, with all the same materials, roofing choices and customisation options, which suits blocks where attaching to the house isn't practical.

I am beyond happy with my new Carport. The quality of the materials and the attention to detail is excellent. The installer, Brad, was brilliant, he was very polite and is a master at his trade. Trueline are lucky to have him on their team. Thank you also to Kerryn for your persistence whilst navigating a couple of challenges we faced. She got it over the line in the end. I would highly recommend Trueline to anyone 😀.

We're really excited to have our Trueline patio with insulated panels, downlights and fan plates now completed. From the initial sales and design phase with Peter, the permit application process and admin support from Kerryn and Colin, the delivery of the works with Brad (installer) and Corey (plumber) - every aspect was exceptional. Each person demonstrated their passion for high quality work, explaining the processes to us as we went. The finished product is exceptional and Trueline proved to be trustworthy, respectful of our home, reasonably priced and made us feel comfortable in the safest of hands.

Frequently Asked Questions

In most cases, yes. Carports in Queensland generally need building approval, and if the carport sits within the front setback or close to a side boundary, it may also need a siting variation from council. Homes in a character or heritage area can have extra requirements on top of that. Trueline manages the whole process through a private certifier, including siting variations, development applications and any engineering reports needed.

A well-built carport protects your car from hail falling from above, which is where most of the damage comes from. In storms with strong, wind-driven hail, an open-sided carport offers less protection from the sides, so if your carport faces the direction storms usually come from, your design consultant can talk you through adding side cladding or screens.

Yes. Our Heritage Carports are designed for exactly this, with a gable roof and weatherboard or chamferboard detailing that echoes the original house. Colours, roof pitch and trims can all be matched so the carport looks like it was built at the same time as the home.

It depends on the size, design, roofing material, the slope of your block, site access and whether any siting variations are needed. Steel carports generally sit at the more affordable end, with insulated and Heritage designs at the higher end. Your free in-home consultation gives you a tailored design and an inclusive, fixed-price quote.
